Shipbuilding in Rotherhithe: The Nelson Dockyard

Rotherhithe shipyards built many vessels of historical interest, but only one yard lasted from the days of the Stuart Kings to the England of Harold Wilson. The Nelson Dockyard, as it became known, built sailing war vessels from fire ships through frigates to ships-of-the-line.
