When it was demolished in 1859, the chains were reused on the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol’s most iconic landmark.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen complete in 1838, the arches of the Maidenhead Bridge were the widest and flattest in the world. They even carried the Great Western Railway across the River Thames. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is widely known that Brunel designed the Great Western Railway. However, many aren’t aware he also designed the Queen's Carriage in 1847 to transport royalty in supreme luxury. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLaunched in 1858, the Great Eastern was Brunel's final project and the largest of his three ships (standing at 211 metres long).
