Single D’light Dalit Candle

Lovingly named D’lights, short for Dalit Tea lights, these charming little candles offer a unique and meaningful alternative to standard metallic tealights.

Handcrafted in petite clay pots, D’lights are simple, elegant, and perfect as wedding favours, party accents, or thoughtful gifts.

Launched in 2010, Dalit Goods Co. was created to raise awareness of the plight of India’s Dalit people. For centuries, Dalits (once called 'untouchables') have faced systemic barriers in education, healthcare and employment. 

One symbol of this oppression is the clay drinking pot, used by Dalits and then smashed to reinforce their perceived untouchability. It was this symbol that first inspired the creation of Dalit Goods.

Each D’light is handmade by members of the Dalit community in India. Every purchase directly supports our mission to provide education, shelter, and care for street children and vulnerable groups.

Candle Care & Safety:

• Terracotta is naturally porous. Always place the candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.

• Keep away from children, pets, and flammable objects.

• Never leave a burning candle unattended.

• Trim wicks to 1 cm before each use and allow at least 10 cm between burning candles.
